Deep Woods Explorer Fingerless Gloves

So, after making the Explorer Cap last night, I decided to try and make a complimentary pair of fingerless gloves today. Instead of looking for a pattern, I just sat down with the same yarn and hook and started working. Having read about the basic construction of gloves and such when I made some gauntlets for my son, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do and it really went pretty quick.

The pattern is available on Ravelry at the following link.

  1. My grandmother was a crocheter. My mother decided to learn to knit when I was in my early teens. One of the 1st things she made were fi ngerless gloves for my dad to use when he went ice-fishing. She woud be amazed that they are so popular now. Then, people thought she was nutc . . but Dad loved them.

    1. That is too funny. My dad is in his 70's, but still does more work outside in a week than I will likely do in a lifetime. When I go over to Alabama to help him, he is always taking his gloves off to free up his fingers and then putting them back on again. I think I'll make him a set of these and see what he thinks.
